Oxfordshire-based technical systems integrator and reseller, Direct Insight, has launched an innovative solution for intelligent edge processing. The QS93 is a compact QFN-style system-on-module (SoM) that offers a highly efficient and cost-effective 64-bit solution. Powered by NXP's latest dual-core i.MX935, featuring ARM Cortex-A55 processors, the QS93 packs impressive capabilities into its miniature form. With dimensions of just 27x27mm and a slender height of 2.7mm, it provides a low-power computing solution.
Manufactured by Ka-Ro Electronics in Aachen, Germany, the QS93 SoMs are available in solder-down modules on tape and reel packaging, making them highly suitable for mid- to high-volume production runs. This packaging option eases management and testing processes for device manufacturers.
The QS93 module boasts the power of the i.MX935 processor, equipped with a dual 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A55 core. Additionally, it includes a separate ARM Cortex-M33 operating at 250MHz. The module offers 1GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 4GB eMMC Flash memory, and a wide range of interfaces, including dual USB and dual Ethernet connections.
A notable feature of the i.MX935 processor is its integration of the Arm Ethos U-65 microNPU, enabling energy-efficient execution of machine learning (ML) tasks. This capability positions the QS93 as a competent and versatile solution for a range of edge computing applications.
With Direct Insight's launch of the QS93, businesses can benefit from a compact, yet powerful, system-on-module designed specifically for intelligent edge processing. As the demand for efficient edge computing solutions continues to grow, the QS93 fills a crucial gap in the market.
