Microchip Technology Expands TrustFlex Secure Key Provisioning Service with New ICs

16/08/2024

Microchip Technology has enhanced its TrustFlex secure key provisioning service by introducing three new integrated circuits (ICs) specifically designed to protect sensitive information. This service is ideal for companies looking for a secure method to provision keys without the complexity of managing the process themselves. TrustFlex caters to those needing mid-tier secure provisioning, starting from 2,000 units, with more flexible options at 4,000 units and the least flexible at 10,000 units.

The newly added ICs include secure storage devices available in both 8pad and 3pad packages. These components are engineered to work seamlessly alongside microcontrollers or microprocessors, ensuring secret keys remain protected from hacking attempts. By implementing trusted authentication protocols, these ICs enhance the confidentiality and authenticity of data and communications.

The featured ICs—ECC204, SHA104, and SHA105—come pre-configured with defined use cases, customizable cryptographic keys, and a wealth of code examples. This streamlining of the development process allows businesses to integrate secure provisioning into their products more efficiently. Notably, the ECC204 chip has also received approval from the Wireless Power Consortium as a Qi authentication secure storage subsystem (SSS), further enhancing its versatility.

For development support, Microchip’s ‘Trust Platform Design Suite’ provides essential resources, including code examples and educational materials. This suite facilitates the secure transfer of credentials, making it easier for organizations to leverage Microchip’s secure key provisioning services. By simplifying the integration process, Microchip aims to empower businesses to enhance their security measures while focusing on their core operations.

With these advancements, Microchip Technology continues to lead the way in secure key provisioning, ensuring that companies can protect their valuable data and maintain trust with their customers.
