Cypress semiconductor corporation

Cypress Semiconductor is an American semiconductor design and manufacturing company founded in 1982 in San Jose, California. The company was founded by T.J. Rodgers, who obtained his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. In the early days, Cypress Semiconductor primarily focused on the design and production of static random access memory (SRAM) chips.

In 1986, Cypress Semiconductor went public, trading on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the ticker symbol CY. The company continued to expand its product offerings throughout the 1990s and 2000s, with a focus on microcontrollers, programmable system-on-chip (PSoC) devices, and memory products.
